The Landmark in Ilfracombe4th March 2016My first business event, Open for Business at the Landmark in Ilfracombe, was quite an experience, needing plenty of preparation and a long day on my feet. It was good to meet with so many local business people, old colleagues, new customers (I hope :0) and even an Under Secretary of State. An extra bonus was to see Allan Day receive a very well deserved Excellence in Customer Service Award that recognises his years of work with Ilfracombe & District Community Transport Association. Thank you to Combe Business for all their hard work setting up the day. To find out more please go to open4biz.co.uk Thank you to Neil Perrin at the Photoshop in Ilfracombe for printing this gorgeous image for me. She was noticed by many people. My stand. Thank you to Tim Pryor for designing the pull up banner. You are in there somewhere Steve Nuth good to meet you, been watching your work for years. A student checking his work Somewhere we are on video! Justin Tomlinson, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Disabled People at the Department of Work and Pensions and Peter Heaton-Jones MP chatting to Paul Rogers of 361 Energy CIC Plus speakers, in this case Martin Fletcher talking about the Desire to Aspire. Recognition for 23 years hard work, well done Allan. And the winner was...the Tunnels Beaches :0) All in all, a good day. And in the evening I went up to the North Devon Arena to photograph Falling Apart, but more about that in another blog. I would love a bit of feedback about the blog please. Do the photos fit well on your screen and do they load fast enough for you? Just checking :0)
Many thanks Tim

26th Feb 2016 at the Castle Centre, BarnstapleI was delighted to be asked to photograph this event. It was held in the Castle Centre, Barnstaple to promote the issue of fuel poverty and how 361 Energy CIC has tried to address this with their 361 Empowerment project. The event was sponsored by the NEA (National Energy Action) There was a good turnout including Peter Heaton-Jones MP, local and town councillors, North Devon Homes and other interested people and stakeholders. A good humoured event about a serious subject. Societies 2016 ConventionI had an amazing time at the Society’s Wedding & Portrait Photographers Convention 2016 at the Hilton London Metropole. Five full on days learning tips and tricks of photography business, workflow and techniques. I met some amazing people and fantastic photographers. All of them sharing ideas, experience and inspiration. And let’s not forget the trade show and the photo competition’s. Some amazing images on display. Many of the wedding images were quite dark and sombre, not really my style, but great fun when we got to give it a go, running around the corridors of a very posh hotel with Gordon McGowan and model’s Roseanne and Malcolm. I take no credit for the creation of these images except the composition and post production. Tested the limits of my little Panasonic I can tell you. I love that 20mm pancake lens! Long days and two hours a day on the tube all worth it just for the buzz. Thank you Mark and Paula for putting me up, steering through the rush hour tube and encouraging me to sign up for the week. This is my first ever blog and I welcome your comments
