There is something special about following an event and telling its story in photographs. Everyone is working so hard to make the event a success and having a lot of fun along the way. It is a joy be involved.

Save Our NHS 2016
A bit of a personal one for me. North Devon is a beautiful and wonderful place to live, but that does not stop you needing health care. Unfortunately, because relatively few people live in North Devon, compared with say, London, healthcare is expensive to provide and under the Success Regime plans are being considered that may move many services to Exeter and Plymouth. However you look at it, when you are in medical trouble, and my family has been, Exeter is a very long way away. People are worried and express themselves in the time honoured way of peaceful protest.

Birdman 2016 Ilfracombe
The Southwest Birdman is an annual event in Ilfracombe, where people through themselves off the harbour wall into the water for charity. There is also fine music, excellent company and this year brilliant sunshine. I am told that 11,000 people watched the brave, but slightly daft, competitors plummet into the water. Very well done to everyone involved with making it such a wonderful day. I have to admit to just turning up and taking pictures, along with many other fine photographers and very happy people :0)
